OUR LLAMA YARN

Llama fibers are among the finest and most precious in the world. This is partly because shearing of the animals occurs only every 2 years and each animal produces no more than about 3-4 kilos of hair. Also, the properties of the yarn made from these fibers,, called the “cashmere of the Andes” for a reason – are equally impressive.

Compared to sheep’s wool, llama yarns are not only odorless and exceptionally light, but they also have excellent insulating properties. This means they adjust to temperatures by keeping you wonderfully warm in the cold, while remaining breathable, balancing the heat in warmer conditions.

Allergy suffers and people with sensitive skin can also rejoice: llama yarns are 90% lanolin-free, antibacterial and non-scratch.

Welcome novelty

Natural Lama Fine and Natural Lama Chunky: the fibers for both these fluffy soft yarns are taken from the undercoat of the animal and spun into two popular yarn weigths: a finer (fine), which can be used with needles no. 4-4.5 and the thicker (chunky) for needles size 7-8. Both yarns are made of 100% baby llama and are available in six natural shades as well as six classic colors, in 50g balls.
